I don’t know about you all, but my new year has been chaotic to say the least. I feel like everything from work to my home life has been non-stop since the holiday’s, and I am glad to see them gone!
With the new year comes new goals and new resolutions and this year I am working toward my insurance agency. Steps 1, 2 and 3 are in order and soon I’ll be working toward the rest. I have started a fundraiser with Bonfirefunds to help me in achieving what I need to continue the growth of my company. If you have time to check it out and purchase a t-shirt, it would be super appreciated.
Has anyone used Go Fund Me to raise money for any cause at all? What are your opinions of this? Cheesy and Tacky? Smart and worth a try?
Let me know your thoughts.
In November I learned through a Mom’s Group, on Facebook, that the mission took on 21 new families right before Thanksgiving.
That was gut-wrenching to me. Could you imagine not having a home on Thanksgiving? Or on Christmas? I know everyone has a different story and a different circumstance, but being a mother, I think this hit me a little harder. Trust me, we have had our share of Christmas’ where not everyone got gifts and so forth, but I have always had a home of some fashion. There is even a young lady staying at the mission who just delivered her first baby while having to be there.
A few nights ago, my children and I assembled a few small things to donate to the local outreach mission. Small things, deodorant, toothpaste and tooth brushes, razors and a few little snacks. I can’t tell you how amazing that felt to me. We also sponsored a brother, 11 yrs., and a sister, 11 mos. and picked up a few small things for them to have on Christmas. It is not much, but hopefully it will make them feel good for a little while.
I hope to be able to continue to help these families and this mission in the future. I don’t make a ton of money or anything, I am a working Momma, just like everyone else and we have our own trials we work through. My goal is to help my own children see that we can do little things that make a big difference for other people. I want my children to understand that happiness, thankfulness and humbleness can be passed from one family to the next, and hopefully we can spread that thought through our community.
If you had to tell the person you love most in this world how you felt, but couldn’t use words, what would you give them that would represent your love?
I just want to take a moment to say “Thanks!”
I am up to 30 followers now and that is so much more then I ever expected. I am happy I can get on my blog and say whatever I am thinking and so far, it has been welcomed.
I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude towards other blogs that I have discovered and now love taking the time to read.
Maybe I created my own award, IDK, but I do know that I love positive feedback and good vibes. So…. I am nominating the following Blogs for the Good Vibes award. I don’t want to create a chain award nomination thing but feel free to do what YOU want with it. The only thing I am asking is IF you chose to accept, write about the reason you chose to start a blog… the real reason. Are you bored and looking for something to do, are you bringing attention to a cause? Tell us.
I chose this blog because I always feel…refreshed, after reading the posts written. The photos that are accompanied with the words are amazing. It is just a beautiful blog and I am thrilled I found her.
I love this girl. I feel like she could be me. Enough said.
I love the information she shares. I feel she definitely has a genuine concern about what she shares in her posts. She has inspired me to research more about our Veteran’s and what I can do to help my community and I can not wait to share more information on my own research.
Again, this is something I wanted to send out. Ladies, do with it as you wish, but I’m sending the Vibes your direction.
